A lil' pumpkin for our pumpkin

Sunday we went to Amicalola Falls in Dawsonville for Ian's 1st birthday party. It was a nice mountain drive and took us a little over an hour to get there. Emily ate a cheeseburger from the grill. She shoveled that burger in her mouth. Daddy gave Emily her first shoulder ride. She would squeal when the wind would blow in her face. They had a playground next to their pavilion. We had to play! She also squealed in the bucket swings. Really, who doesn't love swings? She loved them. She also went down the slides too. She didn't look at all like a baby today. :( She will be 13 months this week. She is a toddler. We hiked a portion of a trail leading to the base of the waterfalls. Emily looked the view from the backpack carrier. She fits perfectly in it.

At the bottom of the mountain was Burt's Pumpkin Patch. It was a sea of pumpkins. Big honking huge pumpkins and teeny tiny baby pumpkins that fit perfectly in the hands of a 1 yr old. Here are some pictures of Emily enjoying the farm. We loved seeing her in it! She got her pumpkin and I picked out our family pumpkin too.

Warriors stomping all over everyone....

*Sigh*....another year and another loss. Those warriors win ever game. Seriously. That is football country out there and slightly frightening how indoctrinated these boys and girls are.

I think this might be Jake's last year of football for a while. We need a break. Jake needs to try other things and he isn't as gung ho as he has been in the past. We are moving on the basketball right after football. Doziers play basketball....let's hope Jake's height will help him. Did I mention that he is 4'8? How time flies. He is going to be 9 in less than 3 weeks. *sigh*

Emily hanging out at the game...

Friday Night Lights

Jake's school's foundation(which I am a member of) held a fundraiser with movie on the lawn of the school. There was a big screen outdoor projector and we showed the movie, Snow Buddies. While the idea was for students and families to lay out blankets and watch a show together, it was not Jake's idea. Nah, there were glow in the dark sticks which became light sabers which turned into a game with other 3rd grader boys. He is such the social butterfly.

Funny story about the glow stick. I hear a knock on the bedroom door. It is late. Everyone is in bed. It is Jonathan. I knew instantly what the panic was. There is no mistaken when a glow stick breaks. It glows everywhere. Including the side of Jonathan's face, and sprayed the hardwood floors. If ever in this predicament...no worries. It doesn't stain, cleans up super easy, and is non toxic. This still didn't calm Jonathan's fears of posioning and impending doom and he showered at midnight just in case. Here are some pics from the fun night.

The Table is Sold!

So a few post back I mentioned a Foosball table that Gus was selling. It was the last of the single guy stuff and he selflessly sold it to give Emily her playroom. Anyhow, Gus has always had amazing luck selling things. As much as a salesperson industry is risky he would be phenomenal! Anyhoo...a little history. He sold his car after listing it within 3 weeks. He sold his paintball gun and accessories within a week after listing it. He sold his punching bag and stand within 24 hrs after posting it and the Foosball table(which actually was the $1200 model) sold within 24 hrs after a bidding war and he got double for what he asked for it! Either he is lucky, or a great salesperson, or a not so great salesperson who under prices everything. Hmmmm.....regardless it is gone to another guy now and Emily has her playroom and the garage is free of a honking huge table! :0]
Let's take a moment to remember....

The Proof is in the Picture

The Weekend Update

So this weekend was productive and busy! It was great fall weather and sunny. While I try to keep things together all the time this weekend was just one of those weekends when it all came together pretty effortlessly. Alright, maybe not effortlessly but with effort and less hectic stressful moments. *Sigh* I hope it carries over to this week.

Saturday
I spent a bit of the day organizing toys and moving toys into Emily's new playroom. Ah, at last a room for her and all her toys so as not to over take the family living room. I cleaned some too knowing that Emily's babysitter was coming that night to give us adults some adult time with adult conversation. Add into the mix a late afternoon football game. Jake's game was at 5 and ALMOST went into overtime. He got back from the game with Gus at 7:45pm and the babysitter was going to be here at 8! A little panicky but no worries because Jake was suppose to go spend the night at a friend's house. He ate dinner fast and showered fast and we were out the door at 8:15. Emily loves her babysitter and went to her right away! I hope it says like this always and forever. Jonathan was doing is usual, TV, eating, games, eating, running, eating, TV, eating. Did I mention eating? He sneaks food, is constantly hungry and always eating. I remember when I would say, "I wish he would just eat." "One day I will have to tie the food down". The day has come. He is a non stop eating, still skinny, 14 yr old. Jake is right behind him. At our current rate it is 2 gallons of milk and 2 gallons of OJ a week. The OJ could easily be 5 gallons but I refuse! Good thing I have a membership to Costco. Someday soon that is going to become my regular grocery store. *sigh*

Sunday
Jake gets home after church. We all get ready and leave for lunch. After lunch we go to BJ's a Costco style store. We now have memberships to two warehouse style stores. The thing I like about BJ's is that you can use their coupons, plus vendor coupons. I saved $8 on a box of Pampers! I like it because they carry Emily's stuff and Costco doesn't. They have more of the brands we eat plus they have antibiotic, hormone free meats! SCORE! After our trip, Emily feel asleep and I cleaned out the frig/freezer. These shopping trips force you to do that. I mean with the over sized boxes you kinda have no choice.

My parents came over and my dad helped get the last of Gus' single guy toys out of Emily's new playroom. Ah, the Foosball table. It is now in the garage. Gus posted it on Craigslist and after researching how much it is and how much to post it for I was floored. That hunk of bachelor moments is over $800. Come on! For a Foosball table! At least it was a gift from a boss and I don't have to question his spending decisions. With that out of Emily's new room it was onto the desktop/server. There really isn't another place to put this in the house. While no one really uses the desktop, Gus does use it for administrative purposes. Gotta keep it. Gus went to Home Depot to make a door for the bottom of the desk to cover the CPU and speakers. The door is basic but he started painting it last night with chalkboard paint so in turn it will be a little area for her to draw on. Her room is already full of toys. I need to come up with some type of container solution. I really should call Margaret. She is the container queen. It isn't her fault she has CDO. It is like OCD but with all the letters in order like they should be. :)
Well this was long winded! Another new week full of stuff to do! I hope it flows like my weekend did.

Have You Zumba?

So I get this email from one of these moms clubs that I am a part of to join them for a Ladies Night Out at a dance fitness studio. It sounded interesting and I went to the site to check it out. I much prefer dance class or dancing as a form of exercise so the name of the studio is what intrigued me the most. While on the site I notice that they have Zumba. If you have never Zumba it is a Latin infused workout dance routine and so right up my ally. Hard to believe but true that just a mere 2 1/2 years ago I was Latin style dancing two to three times a week. I love it! I decide to try the class the very next day which was yesterday.

I am in the studio and it reminds me of all those years of going to ballet, tap, and jazz. Wall to wall mirrors so you can't miss yourself flapping fat across the room....not fun now. The music starts and I think this is going to be such fun since I even know the music. Perfect! I zumba, I modified zumba, and I am zumba sore. Everything hurts and I realize how ridiculously out of shape I am. I am going back today too. While it hurts now, I just know this is the type of workout that I can commit to. On a side note, Emily did great at the daycare and even had her morning ritual poop there too. Sorry ladies.

Weekend Update!

This weekend was my niece's birthday, Haleigh. I am forever misspelling her name or thinking that I am misspelling her name. Anyhoo, she turned 7 on Saturday and my brother and sister in law had a family dinner last night. Aside from containing three active kids and two babies to the living room and trying to explain to my husband that they are not going to sit on the couch with their hands folded nicely in their lap, it was a good time. Haleigh about hyperventilated when my parents bought her the new Disney Ariel princess movie. My ol' Hannah Montana doll was a mere yeah! Emily did great until she tried to crawl into the kitchen where their dog, Sugar, was kenneled. Sugar barked at Emily who in turned fell to pieces crying. I took her outside to walk around and brought her back in the house. She was still doing the sniffy cry snorting thing and while I was feeding her dinner she saw Sugar and freaked again. Could this mean that she will be afraid of dogs like her mother? Hmmm....either way I hate for her to be afraid of dogs but not so upset that now there is a shot of never owning a dog...sorry dog fans but I do not want a dog or any other pet...I already have two, Jonathan and Jake. They are like animals with their mess and loud, rowdy play. :) Yeah, I just compared them to dogs...well actually puppies...they are the hyper ones. Her are some pics from yesterday. The last ones are of Emily's pig tails....LOVE IT!

Happy Birthday Emily!

Well it has come and gone and I was rather emotional about it. The week leading up to her birthday, which was a week ago today, I was emotional and teary. I guess after having the boys I just know how fast it goes and feel like my year with her truely started at 9 months when I started staying home with her. She is an amazing baby and really pretty easy to care for...so far. I love her too much! Her birthday was filled with my emotions and cupcakes and presents. Emily had a cupcake on her birthday and loved it. She devoured it. She opened her present which was bigger than herself. We bought her the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn House. She loves it. There is so much to do with it that it really does contain her. On Sunday we had a party for her at the pool. It turned out fantastic. My husband was really involved in conversations and I had to remind him to get pictures. We got a lot of great gifts and had a good time. Emily destroyed her cake. I had a feeling after the cupcake on her birthday that she would. She stuck her hands out while I was trying to put it on her highchair tray. She ate cake like an olympian. She was shoving fist fulls into her mouth. At one point I thought she was just mashing it around the tray, but when I got her out there was not enough cake in her bib, tray, or floor. She ate too much, even out of the folds of her arm. She went straight to the pool shower and I could feel her stomach gurgle. My girl who doesn't eat sweet treats was on overload. At least it was her party. Too much fun and now *gasp* she is a toddler. Well as long as I'm living my baby she'll be. :)
