Call off the dogs!

Whew! The phone was not hijacked! I found it during football practice last night. I unfolded the sports chair and in the cup holder were all my friends and family! Whew! That little razor sure is slick!

A Kidnapping of sorts :(

Here is the latest email that I sent today. Sometime during football practice my phone was hijacked! :(

This isn't a forwarded chain mail...no I lost(stolen) my cell phone with all my numbers. Can you imagine how devestating it is? Awful....like a kidnapping of everyone I know since I know noone's phone number and relied on the cell phone. Please email me your phone number so that I can put it in the new phone that I plan on getting tomorrow! Thanks everyone!

I could cry! This truely is awful!

Under Construction

In attempts to make my blog more bedazzled I have gotten in over my head. So, the site is under construction and will return to normal hopefully by tomorrow. This layout stink with my info at the bottom instead of the top so I need to make some adjustments. Before I can do that I need to figure out HOW to make adjustments. So until then it looks craptacular! :)

Jewlery is a girl's best friend, right?

So we have finally put Emily's bracelet on. She has so much jewelry all given to her before she was even born. She has only worn her id bracelet a few times but now that she is older I thought it would be good to get her used to it. Emily thought it was just something to try to get off. Check her out. I will say that it has been 4 hours and she isn't even messing around with it.

Her cousins Haleigh and Paxton came over today. Paxton was loving all the toys. Hard to believe he was a premmie. Here are some pictures.

It is quiet in the house tonight as Jake is spending the night with his grandparents and Jonathan is still off with his dad. Jonthan comes home on Saturday ans we all can't wait! I guess I should sit here and enjoy the silence.

Pictures and Updates

Here are the pictures from Stone Mountain park. Finally I have been able to put them on.

Jake finished VBS at church last Friday. I recorded the little skit that they did about St Patrick. Jake's part was the kidnapper and his line was, "Get back to work my slave!" Sounds like Jake playing with Jonathan. It was fun though. The pictures are not really good because there are mics in front of him in every picture. He sang songs and it was cute. As a kindergarten teacher I couldn't help but laugh and wonder what brave soul would have the star of the show as their student. The star of the show was a little boy who is going into kindergarten. He would go up to the mic and say, "Is everybody ready", like 10 times through out the program. While the 5th graders were performing this little angel went to the piano and started banging on it! During his performance(his real performance) is was over the top animated! Wow! A teacher's dream. Preschool experience is so important people!

Emily has had more adventures with food. This picture is what happens when spaghetti attacks! See Dixie, I do let her get dirty!

We also need to do some major baby proofing! I have been telling Gus this but not until now does he see the urgency! Emily climbed all the way up the stairs today and was so proud of herself. That's it for now. Crying baby....

Thursday Confessional

I am blog stealing from my sister in law as she does weekly confessionals on her blog. So here goes
I confess

I ate pistachios in the car and threw the shells out the window. (Taking it back to nature)

I can watch tv marthons of some shows over and over (Jon and Kate plus 8, Real World, America's Next Top Model)

I don't really like Oprah's show so much anymore

I am a Bejeweled winner....love that game! It is like a modern day Tetris but on cellphones.

I have road rage!

I got scared flying earlier this month. I have flown serveral times and this time I got panicky

I am having more panic attacks than ever

I can't get my house clean enough. I have people come clean and I think I will keep it up and it never happens...freaking laundry keeps multiplying

I think our house is too small and we have been here less than a year

I wish I wasn't so afraid to speak in Spanish

I am beginning to cook a lot more and really enjoy it

I feel like there is not enough time in the day

I am afraid Emily will never really know her grandparents in Venezuela because of the language barrier. I know what that is like and it stinks. Gus doesn't talk to her in Spanish and she will learn and speak English unless of course I put her in a bilingual school...hmmmmmmm

It is eerily calm in the house....this never happens

Baby sleep is so nice

My husband is such a hard worker and amazing provider! I love him!

That is it for the moment....more to follow later.

Stone Mountain Fun!

We spent a hot, sticky, night at the park to have a picnic and watch the laser show. We have been meaning to do this before Gus' brother left to go back to Venezuela. Nothing like waiting to the last weekend to do it. We packed up the car, threw in the soccer ball, and football and headed to the mountain. Emily loved playing on the blanket even though I thought the grass was a little too prickly. She has this walker toy that is a puppy that you push and it plays music and has a bunch of flaps, buttons, and little activities. This toy is a kid magnet. Last week we went to the park and this toy was confiscated by toddlers and at the park that night the same thing. Out of no where come toddlers and preschoolers. One little girl even pushed Emily out of the way! Ummmm.....who do you belong too because I am about to lose it! Her mom came and got her as she went on to throw herself into the limp temper tantrum. Mom was dragging her lifeless girl to their blanket. Oh, dramatic little girls. Hope Emily won't be so dramatic! The boys that played were great though. The laser show was great and there was a great view of the moon and butt crack in front of us too. Seriously, if you know your wearing low rise shorts then be careful when you sit and more importantly don't go commando! Here are some pics of our fun night!

No pics as I see that my husband has taken the camera to work today. I will come back and post them later.

List of things that are addictive!

So there was recently a post on an online forum that I often go to with other moms. One mommy mention Nutella, the yummy chocolate hazelnut spread. She referred to it as "spreadable crack." While I like it too, I thought there are a lot of things that are my "crack" if you will. So this is a list...let's start with foods

pasta-anyway you make it

movie theater popcorn-everyone says that it is yuck with the liquid fat, I mean butter, but really yummy! Give me the tub!

chocolate syrup that hardens on ice cream- a night time favorite of Gus and I can understand why!

white queso dip from El Toro- I could eat that everyday

my mom's cuban cooking

Ok-non food crack

sleep

shopping

dancing-I seriously could dance daily- I wish I could be on Dancing with the Stars- I love Latin dances

Jon and Kate plue 8- not only does Kate have the patience of a saint and the organization to boot, but she talks to Jon in a way that I COMPLETELY can relate to sometimes. I watch her and think, three kids is not so hard.

the perfect jeans- which don't fit my hiney now- see crack type foods for a clue.

a great suntan

Baby smiles and that "baby smell"

Little boys that love their mom like velcro-see Jake

Big boys who love their mom but are too cool to say it-see Jonathan

great friends-especially great friends with babies :)

I bet I will come back to edit this list....stay tuned for my cofessional....

10 months is hard work!

Emily turned 10 months on the 4th of July! What a firecracker! She actually is the opposite. She is mellow and very easy. :) Whew! Let's hope that sticks. Emily has been crawling, pulling up, and is starting to cruise. She is now primarly on table foods. She eats a lot healthier than the rest of the family and our diet is quickly changing. She is just now getting into feeding herself. Her favorites are chicken, zesty tomato puffs, and cheese. Here are some pictures of her feeding herself. My girlfriend joked that I don't let her get dirty. I realized then that I needed to let her do it herself or I would be feeding her till she was 8! Reference my boys whom still are sometimes fed. :{ If I had known then what I know now.....oh well.

If You Look To Your Left....

So my husband spent part of the day with his brother taking the tour of the Atlanta Braves stadium. He is a sports fan of pretty much any sport, and in the year and half that he has been here in Atlanta, he has seen every major sports team at their venue that is offered. A boy's dream to be a professional player....good thing Emily is a girl. Although....he has mentioned Emily and swimming and Olympics. No pressure Emily! :)

Here are some pictures of the tour

So why Gus wants Emily to swim and go to the Olympics? Aside from his own swimming past, Emily has shown to be a little fishy in water. She has been going to Aqua-Tots swim classes this past month for swim lessons. She puts her face in water, under water, and has even been passed under water. When we go to the neighborhood pool she does the same things. For that matter in 3 inches of bath water she will try to put her face in. She is my little fishy! Could she be the next swimmer of the family?

Are we really bloggers?

So I never thought that I would be a blogger but after reading some very fun blogs of friends I thought, why not? So here I am trying to navigate in uncharted waters to create a family blog. As some of you know already, we have a baby website for Emily. You can view it at

If all goes well with the blogging we will discontinue our site membership and blog about Emily and all her milestones here. I am thinking this will be better in the end because it can be about all of us! :) Here is to hoping that we (I) can manage this blog and make it work!

Just an FYI, Jonathan is 14, Jake is 8, and Emily is quickly(too quickly) approaching 1. All the kids are doing well and enjoying their time at home. I too am enjoying the change from frantic mornings to get to school to teach to relaxing, "you want pancakes for breakfast" mornings. Only 1 month till school starts.
